No One Left Behind - Our Commitment to Surrey Residents

Here in Surrey, we have an ultimate ambition – that no one is left behind.

So, what does that mean? Essentially, it means helping those who need us most, and improving quality of life for everyone.

For an organisation responsible for services as diverse as social care, community protection, education and much more, 'no one left behind' is an important touchstone to ensure we are serving all our residents to the best of our ability.

It's also an important guiding principle as we work alongside partner organisations and community groups across Surrey.

Whether it's through work tackling health inequality with schemes such as Club4, that provide healthy meals and activities to children over the holidays, our ground-breaking work with Binti which aims to promote Period Dignity across Surrey, or the Surrey Crisis Fund which provides financial support to those who need it most.

It's the words 'no one left behind' that guide us as we invest tens of millions of pounds to help people with special educational needs and as we work to empower communities with projects like Your Fund Surrey that recently awarded its first round of funding to three well deserving community groups as part of the £100m designated for Community Projects.

No one left behind pushes us to do all we can to protect Surrey for future generations - embracing a greener future by planting more trees, installing electric car charging points and providing more environmentally friendly forms of transport.

It also pushes us as we work with local organisations, education providers and businesses to provide apprenticeships that help people forward their careers and upskill Surrey's workforce.

We realise actions are more important than words. Take a look at our video for our commitment to you, and to see how we're delivering our ambition of no one left behind in Surrey.
